More on Toranets
We are learning more about the hit on this storage base. It went extremely well if you are in Ukraine. The Russian army will have a shortage of shells. This is the kind of strategic hit Ukraine needs more of because it will be the way to victory.
So here is the assessment of one of the OSINT accounts going through Yigal Levin. Adding one of the photos. The others are at the link:
Assessment of the damage at the 107th GRAU arsenal from OSINT researcher Tendar based on satellite images from Radio Liberty:
Of the 42 ammunition bunkers in the new part of the arsenal, 15 were completely destroyed. The condition of another 10 is difficult to assess due to smoke, but they are almost certainly destroyed due to their proximity to large craters. The remaining 17 bunkers show signs of significant damage. Five large craters from large-scale detonations are visible (circled in yellow).
Old part of the base: At least 17 buildings completely destroyed. At least two open-air ammunition storage areas in smoke. The purple circled area cannot be assessed, but the damage, especially in the north-eastern part, must be extremely severe. At least two large craters from large-scale detonations are visible.
The arsenal is 70–90% destroyed. In the best case scenario, the Russians will be able to save 10–20% of the ammunition that was at the base.
So, what else happened after this successful operation? Well, MAKS reported this, and it’s essential:
Western partners should immediately lift restrictions on Ukraine’s use of Western weapons systems against legitimate military targets on Russian territory.
❗️This is stated in the resolution “On the continuation of financial and military support of Ukraine by the EU member states”, adopted at the plenary session of the European Parliament in Strasbourg.
✅ 425 deputies supported the document, 131 voted against it, and 63 abstained.
It seems limits are falling because Europe knows. This follows the pattern we have seen since February 2022: First, France or England leads, then Eastern Europe (this is happening too), and finally, the European Union. Finally, we close that line.
For political reasons, the White House allowed Europe to lead. I may or may not agree with that. The truth is that I don’t know what’s happening behind closed doors. The only thing slowing us down now will be the upcoming elections. I suspect that until November, the White House might be a tad more cautious.
