Treason? Enrichment? Or just plain Incompetence
The plot thickens in the Russian Federation. First, the Ministry of Defense is having a significant cleanup. I must now revise my view that they were going after an assistant secretary who may be Jewish or have Jewish ties.
They are cleaning house, so they will blame Sergei Shoigu (he may face arrest at some point.) And the Federation is expecting to lose the war. In this case, accusing the generals makes sense.
However, there is an onion here that may point to outright treason. Perhaps the exposure of Western human intelligence assets. So, let’s jump in. Let’s go from just Cheka GPU, just the facts, ma’am, to Gulagu.net
Here, more arrests.
The arrest of the subordinate of Deputy Minister of Defense Timur Ivanov, former head of Oboronlogistics Anton Filatov, interestingly coincided with publications about him by the Cheka-OGPU. This happened on the second day after we spoke in detail about the case in which evidence was given against the most glamorous military official, and the first people of the Russian army, Ruslan Tsalikov and Sergei Shoigu, personally cleared him out. If the Investigative Committee really decided to shake off the dust from old materials, then the arrest of Anton Filatov could not only be the start of new high-profile arrests, but also a stone on the neck of the already arrested Timur Ivanov.
Let us remind you that the criminal case revolves around several billion rubles stolen at the last moment before the license was revoked from Interkommerts Bank. Most of them were sent under fictitious agreements for the purchase of currency to the Hong Kong company Turinvest, which Anton Filatov, on the orders and under the control of his supervisor Timur Ivanov, had previously used for fraud with the purchase of ferries for the Ministry of Defense for Kerch, bypassing international sanctions. The company belonged to the nominee of the Ministry of Defense, German citizen Felix Neuberg.
Two years after the initiation of a criminal case against banker Alexander Bugaevsky, materials on embezzlement against this same German and Anton Filatov were separated into separate proceedings. Both defendants were arrested, the case was investigated by the current General Pavel Goryachev, but as soon as there was a threat that the testimony of accomplices would lead to the real beneficiaries of the scheme, Timur Ivanov’s patrons very quickly intervened in the case.
The accused were first transferred to house arrest, and then completely released when the case was sent for further investigation. Felix Neuberg first bought a plane ticket and flew home, and Anton Filatov remained under the guarantee of immunity from Timur Ivanov. With the latter’s imprisonment, the immunity of the former head of Oboronlogistics was revoked and now he is expected to testify, at least against his former boss.
Now, the Kerch bridge has been hit twice, and it’s been taken out of commission both times. It’s an objective of the Ukrainian military to remove that bridge permanently. So, buying ferries makes military sense.
However, like everything else in a patronage society, who you know matters. Skimming the top is standard. This is almost expected. So, having charges brought means that your clan is suddenly in disfavor.
