This morning, I came across this post. It was an admission of who started the conflict in 2014. More curious, it’s not the first one. Igor Strelkov did a while ago, and before his death, so did Evgeny Prighozin. So it’s curious that we have the turbo patriots starting to come clean. This is the post:
Vostok commander admitted that Russian troops invaded Ukraine in 2014
Alexander Khodakovsky, commander of the Vostok brigade of the DPR militia in 2014, in an interview with WarGonzo, told how in the middle of summer 2014 the Russian army came to the aid of the separatists. Blogger Alexander Stefanov, who drew attention to Khodakovsky’s interview, notes that “among those who became interested in the conflict in 2022, there is a very popular opinion that the direct intervention of the Russian army began only after February 24.”
This is how Khodakovsky recalls the events of the summer of 2014, when the DPR militia was on the verge of losing: “Limited “resources” from Russia came in and helped us not only keep this situation under control, but also a number of districts, such as: Novoazovsky , Telmanovsky, Starobeshevsky… They were completely under our control. And we began to control a fairly serious piece of territory and even the city of Mariupol came into question.”
Indeed, Mariopul was in question. It was that battle that was the origin story of the Azov battalion. And whatever you think about it, they were effective in the city's defense.
