First off, the board as Jews is glowing red. The levels of antisemitism are growing exponentially. We know these patterns. They are very familiar. If you are part of a group that has been a minority that’s been persecuted for millennia, you identify the symptoms of a coming disaster.
So we know what happened yesterday in Dagestan. The first post I am using today refers to how the government is reacting to the destruction of religious sites. It’s pretty telling because, in my view, they are telling Jews to go, less so to Christians.
Strap in:
In connection with the tragic events that occurred yesterday in Makhachkala and Derbent, when terrorist attacks occurred in religious buildings, the leadership of Dagestan instructed Dagnasledie to assess the damage caused to religious buildings that are objects of cultural heritage (OCH).
To this end, today Dagnaslediya employees, led by the head of the department Nabiyulla Allaev, are conducting an on-site examination of the Assumption Cathedral OKN, 20th century.
The same activities to assess the damage caused to cultural heritage sites in the city of Derbent will be carried out by a group of specialists led by Deputy Head Kharbil Kharbilov.
We would like to remind you that as a result of terrorist attacks, the following ORNs were damaged: “Assumption Cathedral”, 20th century, located in Makhachkala, “Russian Church”, 19th century, and “Synagogue”, 19th century, located in Derbent. The building of the Synagogue in Makhachkala, damaged as a result of the terrorist attack, is not under state protection as an object of cultural heritage.
It’s the last paragraph. You would think a 19th-century structure would be of historical importance. Most structures over fifty years can be. But they don’t care about the synagogue. So next are the observations from Volymedia. I think they are highly relevant:
Attack in Dagestan. Observations and comments. Part 1
At night, the head of Dagestan, Sergei Melikov, addressed the residents of the republic and stated that “more than 15 police officers were killed.” Let us remind you that by the end of June 23, 10 police officers were killed and one died from wounds. Another four wounded were in serious condition, while the doctors determined the condition of five to be of moderate severity.
The NAC (National Anti-Terrorism Committee) announced that six terrorists had been killed, this information was confirmed by the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the leadership of Dagestan. Four militants were killed in Makhachkala: Adil (37 years old) and Osman (31 years old) are the sons of the former head of the Sergokalinsky district of the republic Magomed Omarov, one is his nephew Abdusamad Amadziev (32 years old) and Dalgat Daudov (43 years old). Two militants were eliminated in Derbent: Gadzhimurad Kagirov (28 years old), a wrestler and MMA fighter, originally from the Sergokalinsky district, and Ali Zakarigaev (36 years old), nephew of Magomed Omarov’s wife. Zakarigaev in 2021 was the chairman of the Sergokalinsky branch of A Just Russia. Two militants were detained on the beach in Makhachkala. According to our security sources, they were attracted to the terrorist group a few days before the attack and, when it all started, they simply got scared and quickly gave up.
How many terrorists there were is still unknown. Considering that in Sergokal a police car was fired upon with machine guns (one officer was wounded), not all the militants were in Makhachkala and Derbent. In addition, it is not clear whether any of those who took part in the attack in the cities were able to escape.
According to the official version, all the terrorists were destroyed, but NAC employees working on the spot say that active operational work is now underway and they are looking for 1 to 3 people. The militants detained on the beach in Makhachkala testify, but they had little knowledge of the full composition of the group or its plans.
Security forces and propagandists from TASS and RIA Novosti call Osman Omarov the leader of the terrorists. It was he who allegedly gathered the rest of the group around him, and he was also involved in preparing the attack. A video filmed near a synagogue set on fire by terrorists on Ermoshkin Street in Makhachkala was found on Osman’s phone. The video shows the doors of the synagogue, on which are written the numbers of verses from the Koran (2:120 “The Jews and Christians will not be pleased with you until you adhere to their religion. Say: “The path of Allah is the straight path.” If you indulge their desires after knowledge has come to you, then Allah will be neither your Protector nor Helper” and 8:39 “Fight them until temptation disappears and until religion (worship) is completely dedicated to Allah. If they. stop, then Allah sees what they do.”
Russian media and officials have already stated many times during the past 24 hours that certain international terrorist organizations are behind the attacks in Makhachkala and Derbent. Both the “Khorasan” vilayat and the “Caucasus” vilayat were mentioned. After the attacks in Makhachkala and Derbent, the Russian-language edition of the media resource of the Islamic State Al-Azaim expressed support for “their brothers from the Caucasus,” who “showed what they are capable of.” However, expressing support does not constitute an admission of involvement or taking responsibility for a terrorist attack.
According to sources in the Dagestan law enforcement agencies, the attack on June 23 could have been the initiative of a specific radical group formed around the Omarov brothers.
What was posted at the temple matters. At this point, we don’t know if this was ISIS-k or another group. It could be a new group. But the Quranic verses are transparent.
