The French Revolution ate itself, and the Terror claimed Robespierre. The Russian Revolution also ate itself, claiming the lives of many former loyalists. The system pursued people all the way to Mexico, where Leon Trotsky was killed.
Then we saw the same in Germany, with the Night of the Long Knives. It was nasty, and people who first supported Adolph Hitler were killed. It was a purge with the whole intent of the word.
Well, Russia is now at this part of the program, when it is eating itself. There is a purge underway:
Don’t wait — fight
💬 “When they came for the communists, I was silent, I was not a communist. Then they came for the trade unionists, I was silent, I was not a member of a trade union… And then they came for me, and there was no one left to protest.”
These words come from the last century, but they sound as if they were written about today’s Russia.
Putin’s regime has long ceased to limit its “menu” to the opposition. It has already suppressed protests against the war, dispersed independent media, and silenced political opponents. But the appetite of the cannibal is boundless.
Today even those who were recently considered untouchable are under attack.
🗣 The authorities have begun persecuting the mothers and wives of the mobilized. Lidiya Yegorova was detained near the Ministry of Defense building and fined after a solo picket. Olga Tsukanova, founder of the “Council of Mothers and Wives,” was sentenced to corrective labor in a case of evading duties as a “foreign agent.” The project “Way Home” and one of its activists, Maria Andreeva, who sent her husband and cousin to the front, have been listed as “foreign agents” since last year. These women, who witnessed arrests of those holding “no to war” placards, surely did not expect that they, who supported the war and gave their men to it, would face the same fate.
The “foreign agents” registry is now a tool of repression not only against the opposition — it has begun to brand loyal figures as well.
‼️ Z-blogger and volunteer who worked with “Akhmat,” Roman Alekhin, is now also a “foreign agent.” And pro-government political analyst Sergey Markov is too. Notably, both the first and the second called on the authorities to take the harshest possible measures against “foreign agents,” and now they themselves have joined their ranks.
Former State Duma deputy from “United Russia” Magomed Gadzhiev has also become a “foreign agent.” And in the context of what is happening, it is quite logical that Gadzhiev himself voted for the “foreign agents” law in 2023 and has gratitude from the head of the “DPR,” Denis Pushilin, for helping the residents of Donbas and Russian military personnel.
It is appropriate to recall the 17th Congress of the CPSU(b) in 1934. All its delegates unanimously supported Stalin’s repressive policy. And almost all of them became its victims. Later, this congress would be called the “shot congress”: only two delegates survived — Krupskaya, Lenin’s widow, and his sister, Maria Ulyanova.
This is the nature of dictatorship: it devours everyone indiscriminately — opponents and supporters alike.
💬 Do not indulge yourself with the illusion that you can sit on the sidelines, that repression will not touch you. Passive waiting for some abstract “changes for the better” will only lead to one thing — eventually, they will come for you too.
To date, only the “Freedom of Russia” Legion offers a real alternative — not to wait for mythical changes, but to fight for your future. In Russia, it will not be given; it must be won back. Step by step — creating institutions, support networks, organized resistance. If you are not yet ready to join the Legion — join the Movement. Let as many people as possible learn about the Legion. And only by acting together can we stop the dictatorship and build a country that will not be shameful to pass on to our children. 🫡
Authoritarian systems need enemies. Once you take care of the current group of enemies, new enemies are needed. In time, the most loyal sons of the regime become targets of the regime.
Here is where the story with gasoline matters:
“We have everything, but no gasoline”🤷♀️
Propagandists have started wondering how to talk about the growing fuel crisis in Russia without falling out of favor with Pu. It turns out clumsy and stupid. Basically, as always.
And what say you about attacking Europe? Speak of a massive trove of enemies…or a loss to a more formidable enemy:
🤔 In the Kremlin, they are discussing an attack on NATO, — says European Commissioner Kubilius
“I trust the intelligence services. And the German intelligence claims to have evidence that the Kremlin is discussing an attack on NATO. And if they are discussing it, are they planning an attack? We do not know. But such signals must be taken seriously.
They really might be ready for war. We must also be ready for it and learn not only from the experience of Ukrainians but also from the Russians,” said European Commissioner for Defense Andrius Kubilius.
And to be brutal, Europe is taking it seriously; the closer you are to the Eastern front, the more countries are. Incidentally, this is also part of your strategic communications:
Lithuania has launched its largest-ever mobilization exercise, Vyčio Skliautas 2025, LRT reports.
From today until October 11, large-scale crisis readiness drills will be held across the country, involving all 60 municipalities, over 100 government agencies, and around 2,000 participants.
The goal is to test Lithuania’s ability to reorganize resources, provide defense, and maintain critical services in the face of a threat.
The exercises will include hybrid attack scenarios, evacuation of citizens, public alerts, and coordination between the army, police, Border Guard, and medical facilities.
